Mudplug Ltd Mudplug operates all inclusive Greenlaning tours in France. We operate weekend tours in the North of France near to the WW1 Battlefields of the Somme, and 1 week tours in the Massif Central, based in the Valley of the River Allier. Both these tours are "all inclusive" and include ferry fares (where applicable), accommodation, evening meals, and picnic lunches. All you have to pay on top of the price is your fuel, and your "spending money". The lanes in the North are suitable for all types of 4x4s including “soft roaders”. Here the lanes we use are non-damaging, as there are no rocks, or dry stonewalls, and can be muddy in winter, and dry and dusty in summer. The lanes can be challenging when wet, but the worst that can happen is that you get stuck, and if you do we pull you out, without damaging your vehicle. There are no "extreme" lanes, and these are all public highways, and as such are repaired when winter ruts get too deep. The lanes in the Massif Central are more challenging, and although there is not much risk of damage, paint work scratches from undergrowth are inevitable, and roof racks are not advisable. A transfer box and guards for axle, steering, and sump are advised. Both tours are centre based are on the guided “out and back” to avoid the need to pack up and move on and have to travel with all your baggage in your 4x4. We stay in a privately owned “hostellerie”, and eat wonderful local food in their restaurant.
